Why should I establish a cellar or storage ?

For a lot of reasons and then again maybe not.

It all depends to which extent  you plan to buy more wine
than you plan to drink and naturally the quantity and quality of the wine.

Assuming you have 50 bottles or more, it is to your advantage to arrange for a separate storage provided that you have room for it.

Logically the ultimate place of storage is in the cask or bottle, at the estate of which the wine originated, provided the producer has certain standards. Accordingly, if you wish to
preserve your bottles the best way possible, you should "imitate" the cellar-condition of the estate to the extent
possible.
Many do not believe that this can be arranged, but we have seen private cellars being much better controlled than that of the actual Château. (Bear in mind that most cellars of the
estates in Bordeaux are not natural and very deep, such as can be seen in for instance the Hungarian Tokaj-Hegyalja-region.

Again, it is a matter of need and desire, but imagine if you treated your wine the same way as your food ?

Unfortunately, it is merely older houses that have basements, in which you can construct you winecellar, but should the case be, that you do not have that privilege, then there are still a couple of solutions for your own storage-room.

Apartments are not the best place, but can  be suitable for a certain minor stock. Do not under any circumstances store your wines in the kitchen-area,- well not even in the
neighbourhood thereof.
